Ranch Hero collects and uses your information to connect buyers and sellers of miniature highland cattle in Texas. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can control it.
What we collect
When you create an account or submit an inquiry, we collect your name, email address, and phone number. Sellers also provide a government-issued ID, farm address, and references for verification purposes. Listings include animal photos, documentation, and pricing information you provide.
We also collect standard web analytics (page views, referring URLs) to understand how the platform is used. We do not sell this data.
How we use your information
Your contact information is used to connect buyers and sellers through Ranch Hero's messaging system. Seller verification data (ID, farm address) is used exclusively for the Trust Score verification process and is not shared publicly.
Inquiry messages are logged and retained to support the buyer protection and dispute resolution process. This record-keeping is intentional — it's how we protect both parties if something goes wrong.
What we share
We do not sell your personal information. We share data with third-party services only as necessary to operate the platform: identity verification providers, email delivery services, and payment processors (when transactions are enabled).
Public seller profiles display your ranch name, location (city/region only), bio, and Trust Score. Your government ID and full address are never publicly displayed.
Data retention
Inquiry and transaction records are retained for 3 years to support dispute resolution. Seller verification data is retained for the duration of your account and 1 year after closure. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing privacy@ranchhero.com.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct inaccuracies, or request deletion by contacting privacy@ranchhero.com. We will respond within 30 days. Note that transaction records may be retained for legal or dispute purposes even after an account closure request.
